
National Trails Day
Saturday, June 5th, 2010
Red River Gorge Trail Crew, in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service, invites you to join us in celebrating National Trails Day on Saturday, June 5th at the Gladie Historic Site.
The National Trails Day Project will be clearing vegetation from the Swift Camp Creek Trail. Festivities include a t-shirt giveaway, a Phillip Gall's / Benchmark gift certificate raffle, our famous potluck dinner and traditional campout.

Great Miami River Clean Sweep -
Sunday, June 27th, 2010 (Call to confirm times)
Join us in the clean-up of a stretch of the Great Miami River. The Benchmark crew will be meeting at Heritage Park in Colerain Township to start the clean-up and will then move down the road towards Dravo Park, tidying up the river as we go. Topo Adventures Intro to Navigation -
Sunday, July 18th, 2010 at 9:30 a.m.
Join us and the Topo Adventure Sports team at Mt. Airy Forest (5083 Colerain Ave, Cincinnati) for an introductory seminar on navigation and orienteering. Topics will include:
Topographic Map Reading
Basic compass use
Finding routes in the field
This is a great way to start preparing for the East Fork Challenge. Participants should arrive on time with a compass, water and a willingness to do some hiking.
